Yūgen Forest

Welcome to Yūgen Forest on Roggebotstaete Estate, a place for peace, regeneration and wonder. We ask that you treat this special place with consideration and respect so that everyone (human, animal and plant) can feel at home here.

Arrival and parking
  • You can find us at Vossemeerdijk 6, 8251 PN Dronten.

  • Park your car in the designated parking lot immediately to the right of the main entrance.

  • No vehicle is allowed to enter the premises without permission. Violation will result in a fine of €50. Loading and unloading at the sites is possible, by arrangement.

  • No faster than 15 mph is allowed anywhere on the property.

  • From the parking lot, it is a 7-10 minute walk to the venues.

Respect for nature
  • ‘Leave no trace’, so don’t leave trash or cigarette butts. Use the trash points and separate trash as much as possible.

  • Do not pick flowers or plants. Leave animals alone.

  • Stay on the trails to protect fragile biodiversity.

  • Leave the place more beautiful than you found it.

Site access
  • Stay on main and hiking trails; entering sensitive natural areas off the trails is not allowed.

  • Respect cordons and signs restricting access to certain areas.

Walkers and dog policy
  • Hikers are welcome between sunrise and sunset, on the designated trails of the bird walk (start from the front parking lot).
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times to avoid disturbing wildlife.
Photographers
  • Photographers must register with us in advance. They may take photos on the estate (from the paths), for a voluntary fee of 150 euros (which goes directly to the management of the estate).
  • The Greenhouse can be rented as a wedding photo shoot location, for a fee of 200 euros per hour (which directly benefits the maintenance of that location).
  • Drones are not allowed on the property.
Use of sites

Yūgen Forest has four locations available for booking: the Slot, the Greenhouse, the Giant Tipi and the Forest Room.
Times for use are as follows:

  • Business meetings: 08:00 – 18:00

  • Private events: 13:00 – 23:00

  • Retreats and ceremonies: times by arrangement
Please note that self-cooking is not allowed. We are happy to provide delicious, nutritious and (as much as possible) home-grown vegetable meals.

Silence & atmosphere
  • After 11 p.m., there is a period of silence on the premises.

  • Amplified music is not allowed.

  • Acoustic or soft background music is allowed, as long as it does not disturb others or nature.

Lodging & accommodations
  • Check-in from 15:00 | Check-out by 11:00

  • Leave your accommodation and shared areas tidy. Zipper up your tent completely when you leave (inside and outside zipper, including the small windows) and lock your cabin door. Don’t forget to give your key to your contact person.

  • Use the wood stoves according to the instructions. Ask for help when in doubt.

  • Pets are unfortunately not allowed.

  • Our accommodations are non-smoking.

Safety & responsibility
  • Participation in activities and lodging is at your own risk.

  • Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. Please do not leave cigarette butts.

  • Open fire is prohibited except in the official fire places and in consultation with our team.

  • Report any damage, accidents or dangerous situations to a team member immediately.

  • A first aid box is available in the Lock, in the Greenhouse and in the Forest Room.

Ecological facilities
  • Our plumbing is connected to a helophyte filter; there is no sewer connection. We purify our own consumed water, which in turn becomes part of our eco-system. It is of utmost importance that we do this correctly, therefore:

  • Use only the 100% biodegradable personal care products we provide.

  • Do not flush other products or materials down the toilet or drain.

Thank you for helping Yūgen Forest protect and flourish. By being mindfully present, you help create a place of peace, inspiration and connection – for yourself and for generations to come.

With warm regards,
Team Yūgen Forest
