Green Space Supervisor/Foreman

Build biodiversity and teams – Outdoor space coordination internship

As a Green Space Supervisor intern at Yugen Forest, you help plan and coordinate nature projects on the estate. You start the day with a briefing, assign tasks to volunteers or fellow interns, and work alongside them on the maintenance of grasslands, food forests, and paths. You learn how to give work instructions, maintain an overview, and communicate with different target groups. You work partly outdoors and partly on preparing activities, such as creating daily schedules or drafting task lists. You develop leadership skills, learn to organize in a green environment, and discover how to work within a diverse community.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a student with a good overview, a sense of responsibility, and a heart for nature. You enjoy working with different people and can communicate clearly. You dare to take initiative, see what is needed, and think in solutions. You can organize, motivate, and switch easily between hands-on work and management. You are eager to learn, social, and feel comfortable in a dynamic outdoor environment. You don’t need to be an expert yet — we will guide you in growing into a coordinating role.

What do we offer?

We offer a unique opportunity to gain experience in coordination and nature management within a regenerative estate. You will receive guidance from experienced team members, work with a diverse group of volunteers, and learn to manage, plan, and communicate in practice. You will practice leadership in a safe, inspiring environment where there is room for growth. You will be part of a warm community, work in the middle of nature, and see the daily results of your efforts. This includes communal lunches, flexibility, and plenty of room to learn.

Who are we?

Yugen Forest – Where nature, regeneration, and well-being come together.

Yugen Forest is a regenerative nature and retreat center at the Roggebotstaete Estate in Dronten. We form a vibrant, inclusive community working together on nature restoration and human growth. Instead of being driven by profit, we choose well-being, connection, and responsibility for future generations.

We manage and restore the landscape with food forests, permaculture gardens, herb-rich meadows, and natural watercourses. At the same time, we are a place of peace and soulfulness, where people can find themselves during retreats, ceremonies, and silent walks.

In addition, we host inspiring events such as forest dinners, open days, workshops, and community workdays. Our kitchen processes harvests from our own garden into delicious products and meals for guests, volunteers, and participants.

Yugen Forest is more than a place — it is a way of life where you can slow down, contribute, and feel reconnected to the earth. Our community consists of volunteers, students, artists, farmers, people in transition phases, reintegration programs, social workshops, and nature lovers. Everyone contributes in their own way: in the garden, the kitchen, organizing retreats, or behind the scenes at events.

What characterizes us:

  • We believe that regeneration starts with collaboration.
  • We consciously choose a steward-owned structure, where proceeds flow back into nature and our mission.
  • We combine ecological nature management with guest experience, community building, and purpose.
  • We create a learning environment with room for mistakes, reflection, and growth — both ecologically and personally.

At Yūgen Forest, interns find a unique learning environment full of meaning. A place where trees, people, and ideas take root.
