Yūgen Forest
Welcome to Yūgen Forest at Landgoed Roggebotstaete, a place for peace, regeneration, and wonder. We ask you to treat this special place with care and respect, so that everyone (humans, animals, and plants) can feel at home here.
Arrival and parking
- You can find us at Vossemeerdijk 6, 8251 PN Dronten.
- Please park your car in the designated parking area immediately to the right of the main entrance.
- Driving onto the grounds with a vehicle is not permitted without permission. Violations will result in a fine of €50. Loading and unloading at the locations is possible, by arrangement.
- The speed limit is 15 km/h everywhere on the estate.
- It is a 7–10 minute walk from the parking area to the locations.
Respect for nature
- ‘Leave no trace’, so do not leave any litter or cigarette butts behind. Use the waste points and separate waste as much as possible.
- Do not pick flowers or plants. Leave the animals in peace.
- Stay on the paths to protect the fragile biodiversity.
- Leave the place more beautiful than you found it.
Access to the grounds
- Stay on the main and walking paths; entering fragile nature areas off the paths is not permitted.
- Respect barriers and signs that restrict access to certain areas.
Hikers and dog policy
- Hikers are welcome between sunrise and sunset on the designated paths of the bird walking route (starting from the front parking area).
- Dogs must always be on a leash to prevent disturbing wildlife.
Photographers
- Photographers must register with us in advance. They may take photos on the estate (from the paths) for a voluntary fee of 150 euros (which goes directly towards the management of the estate).
- The Greenhouse can be rented as a wedding photoshoot location for a fee of 200 euros per hour (which goes directly towards the maintenance of that location).
- Drones are not allowed on the estate.
Use of the locations
Yūgen Forest has four locations available for booking: the Slot, the Greenhouse, the Giant Tipi, and the Boskamer. The times for use are as follows:
- Business meetings: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Private events: 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Retreats and ceremonies: times by arrangement
Please note: self-catering is not permitted. We are happy to provide delicious, nutritious, and (as much as possible) plant-based meals from our own soil.
Silence & atmosphere
- A quiet period applies on the grounds after 11:00 PM.
- Amplified music is not permitted.
- Acoustic or soft background music is allowed, as long as it does not disturb others or nature.
Stay & accommodations
- Check-in from 3:00 PM | Check-out before 11:00 AM
- Please leave your accommodation and shared spaces tidy. Zip your tent completely shut when you leave (inner and outer zippers, including the small windows) and lock the door of your cabin. Don’t forget to hand in your key to your contact person.
- Use the wood stoves according to the instructions. Ask for help if you are unsure.
- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
- Our accommodations are smoke-free.
Safety & responsibility
- Participation in activities and your stay is at your own risk.
- Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Do not leave any cigarette butts behind.
- Open fires are prohibited, except at official fire pits and in consultation with our team.
- Report any damage, accidents, or dangerous situations immediately to a team member.
- A first-aid kit is available in the Slot, the Greenhouse, and the Boskamer.
Ecological facilities
Our sanitation is connected to a helophyte filter; there is no sewer connection. We purify our own used water, which becomes part of our ecosystem again. It is of the utmost importance that we do this correctly, therefore:
- Only use the 100% biodegradable personal care products that we provide.
- Do not flush any other products or materials down the toilet or drain.
Thank you for helping to protect Yūgen Forest and helping it flourish. By being present with intention, you help care for a place of peace, inspiration, and connection – for yourself and the generations after us.
Warm regards,
Team Yūgen Forest
