Who are we?
Yūgen Forest is an event and retreat location in a regenerative nature reserve in Flevoland, on the shores of the Drontermeer. We combine nature, well-being, hospitality, and regenerative agriculture in one unique location. Both business groups and individuals come here to meet, connect, celebrate, find stillness, and enjoy delicious food. Our guests can stay overnight in glamping tents and cabins in the heart of nature. Our day-care group works outdoors. Interns learn their trade here. And our grounds grow and develop further every year.
To make all of this possible, we are looking for a manager who knows the grounds like the back of their hand and takes pride in them.
What will you be doing?
You are responsible for managing our entire outdoor area: from the forest and grasslands to the glamping site and the commercial outdoor spaces where our guests stay. You work outdoors every day, but you also contribute ideas about the future of the grounds.
Nature and Land Management
You implement the annual regenerative management plan and keep it up to date. You manage forests, ponds, hedgerows, orchards, and wooded banks. You prune, thin out, mow in phases, and plant. You coordinate grassland management together with a local farmer with whom we work closely. You monitor the health of trees and ecosystems and report to the management. You account for the management to the province in the context of the SNL subsidy.
Commercial Grounds and Guest Experience
You ensure that our grounds look well-kept and welcoming at all times. You maintain the exterior of the glamping site, the terraces, lighting, shade sails, and signage. You prepare the grounds for seasonal changes and identify damage or wear and tear in a timely manner.
Ontwikkelambities
We zijn een terrein in ontwikkeling. Je begeleidt en coördineert bouw- en inrichtingsprojecten op het terrein, van de omvorming van terpen naar voedselbos tot de herontwikkeling van de oprijlaan. Je denkt actief mee over wat het terrein nodig heeft om verder te groeien.
